this shit is sooooo raw. old school roots shit, no one plays the drums better than ?uestlove..honestly. Im a little disapointed that they decided to "retire" and play as the tonigh show band when jimmy fallon takes over next year. if you havent already, go listen to their newest album, Rising Down, not there best work, but its still pretty hot... enjoy this classiq jawn of the day

Speaking My Mind..
If anything thats been pissing me off as of late, its been how many fucking people arent orignal. im tired of seeing kids that used to wear baggy ass girbauds and 3x tall tees, now wearing ru21 and hot topic shirts with skinny jeans. being one of the only black kids in my school that skated, and liked rock music set me apart from EVERYONE. people called me white boy, whatever whatever. but as soon as i left jersey, the whole lupe fiasco kick push craze came about, now.. every kid i remember with the girbauds wants to be a hipster. you dont know how much this pisses me off. now, everyone back home in nj is like "ayy man, when you get here we gotta hit up so and so skatepar", nahhh man fuck you. i know this will all die out real soon, and when it does, ill still be with it..because its who i am. i didnt change how i was just to impress the chick tht only wants you cuz you have nice kicks. nah, fuck that..i know what i am.im not one of you fake ass posers. and another thing, stop wearing fake ray bans! alright im done, CLiQ tee's, coming to the blog real soon..ive been real busy with that lately. ill keep you allllll posted.

KanYe West: 808's & Heartbreak
KanYe West has always been above and beyong the rest with his music. The Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation all proved his musical genious. Every sound on his albums are always elcletic and above the rest. But as most recent as the MTV Awards 08, KanYe performed a then unreleased song called, "Love Lockdown". When i heard this live, i thought it was amazing. He didn't rap it, he sang it. With auto-tune. His newest album, 808's & Heartbreak, will be "sang" by Kanye entirely in autotune and should be released on Thanksgiving weekend. Most people are knocking him for using auto-tune, but this new sound could be refreshing for hip-hop and im definatly giving an album a chance. Two singles have already been released, "Love Lockdown" and "Heartless". The album features Kid Cudi, Jeezy, and Lil Wayne. Here's the officai track listing and the official video for love lockdown..
1. "Say You Will"
2. "Welcome to Heartbreak" (feat. Kid Cudi)
3. "Heartless"
4. "Amazing" (feat. Young Jeezy)
5. "Love Lockdown"
6. "Paranoid" (feat. Mr Hudson)
7. "RoboCop"
8. "Street Lights"
9. "Bad News"
10. "See You in My Nightmares" (feat. Lil Wayne)
11. "Coldest Winter"
12. "Pinocchio Story" (freestyle live from Singapore)

The Next Wave of Hip-Hop Artists
With labels and artists beefing now more than ever, youre starting to see more artists release work independently and in most cases, for free. Artists like Mickey Factz, Blu, Drake, Asher Roth etc. are releasing mixtapes on their websites for free. Mickey Factz, a product of New York City, is debuting a new set of songs every week on his myspace page, which sets up for his album, to be realeased early 2009. And believe it or not, the free music isn't just half-ass decent shit, all of it is crack. Drake( you may or may not know him from the television show Degrassi), has released two mixtapes, Comeback Season and Room For Improvement. These helped set him up to collaborate with artists like Lil Wayne. Rumors surfaced that he'd be joining his Young Money Entertainment label, with his album, Thank Me Later, hitting stores early 2009. This phenomenon is only growing, and can actually help boost record sales and bring back real hip-hop.

If you're familiar with MF DOOM, then you should know who KMD is. It feature a young MF DOOM as Zev Love X, his little brother Subroc and Rodon. After one album the group disbanned due to Dooms brother being struck and killed by a car on the Long Island expressway. I just copped the rare and controversial album Bl_ck B_st_rds at FYE, shit is CRACCKKKK. But here it is, Peach Fuzz, enjoy kids...

Q-Tip- The Renaissance

Once again, Q-Tip drops a bomb of an album. After his highly anticapated album Kaamal The Abstract failed to hit the shelves after a dispute with his label, The Renaissance features songs with Raaphael Saadiq( The Way I See It, hot as hell go cop it), D'Angelo, Joss Stone and The beautiful Amanda Diva. The hottest tracks on the album without a doubt are Move, Gettin Up, and Life Is Better.. But all and all every track on the album is hot. I give it 4 out of 5.

Raphael Saadiq: Bringing It Back
Most of you have no idea who this man is, or who he was before now. Raphael Saadiq is one of the most talented rhythm and blues musicans of our time. Back in the 80's/90's, he was the lead singer of Tony Toni Tone! After dissapearing for a few years to concentrate on producing some dope albums, he's made a comeback with his newest album, The Way I See It. It's sound goes back to the sounds of The Temptations. This movement has also been popular with artists like Solange Knowles. The Way I See it is a great album cover to cover, featuring artists like Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, Joss Stone and others. I give it a 4 out of 5, suggest you go get it!!

The Next Eminem?

Coming from Morrisville, PA, Asher Roth is a newcomer to the hip hop scene. He's one of the hottest MC's out right now, and has been labeled by some as the next coming of Eminem. In all honesty, Em and Asher Roth are opposites. Eminem is from the rough streets of Detroit's 8 Mile, Roth hailing from a Philadephia, PA suburb. His rhymes are like none ive ever heard, and his mixtape: The Greenhouse Effect, is worth every bit of the free download on his website. Signed to DJ Drama's Aphiliates Records, expect big this from this MC...

Now Lets Start The Show
Finnally, after two long years of brainstorming, experimenting and learning, CLiQ is born. The concept of CLiQ came about with the change of style over the last couple years, with people being more orignial than in previous years. I've always had a unique and different look than most of my peers, and finally being able to share what i'd call the newest movement in street trends. The CLiQ is in, now lets take over.
